The only source of nutrition for bed bugs is the blood. They can live as long as a year without food in a cool condition. They are mostly more active at night when everyone is fast asleep.

Bed bugs usually inhabit furniture, crevices, cracks, sheets, picture frames, electrical outlet plates and behind baseboards. They can also be found in hotels, visitors’ luggage or any other places conducive for them.

Signs of a Bed Bug Infestation

  1. Seeing the bugs. The shape and the size of a mature bed bug are similar to an apple seed.
  2. Case skins. The younger ones shed their skin as they grow, indicating their presence where ever it is found.
  3. This insect goes back to its hideout after feeding and its feces looks brownish on a porous surface or brownish black on a nonporous surface.
