Product Description

Nature’s MACE Deer and Rabbit Repellent is made with proven ingredients, shown by several university studies to be effective in repelling deer. It is safe for use on all plant types and is safe for use around family, pets, and wildlife. Our liquid spray repellents are made from eco-friendly and natural ingredients.

Nature’s MACE Professional Concentrate protects against deer and rabbit damage to trees, cotton, soybeans, potatoes, pumpkins, corn, squash, strawberries, peanuts, grapes, berries, seedlings, flowers, annuals, perennials, and almost all types of vegetation.

Our repellents can provide for year-round deer and rabbit control. They have been successfully used for years by backyard gardeners, professional growers, nurseries, commercial applicators, and more. Deer and Rabbit MACE Professional has been used heavily in commercial farming and in protecting trees, vineyards, and edible crops. Our repellent will help to increase your overall plant yield and hopefully your bottom line. Farmers lose thousands of dollars yearly to uncontrollable deer damage, Stop Deer Today with Nature’s MACE.

Nature’s MACE is easy to use, cost-effective, and long-lasting. The repellent goes to work fast and contains proprietary sticking agents to make it weather resistant. It binds directly to plants, can be used in all seasons, and will not easily wash off. The formula will not leave a film, stain, or damage plants or siding.

Directions for Use

Directions for Use: The repellent comes as a liquid concentrate. Shake contents and mix with water before use. Apply at a rate of 8 fluid ounces per gallon of water at a ratio of 16:1 or 1.43 fluid ounces per 1,000 square feet.

Spray heavily along the area’s perimeter to discourage deer from entering. Apply heavily to areas deer frequently roam or use as access points. In the beginning, apply more frequently to stop active browsing. Spray directly to leaves, stems, flowers, and branches from all angles. Apply until the plant drips and the leaves are wet. Repeat spraying in 7 days. Thereafter, once every month.

Allow 30 minutes for the product to dry before watering. Do not apply before or after heavy rain. Avoid spraying when plants are wet with dew. Applications will hold up through light to moderate rain but re-apply after heavy rainfalls. Apply to dry leaf foliage, and not during peak sun hours. We always recommend testing a small area on the plant before applying on a large scale, as some plant types are sensitive.

Application Tips

If you notice deer in the winter, they will likely be back in the spring. After a cold winter deer are eager to eat fresh growth. The best time to start spraying is at the beginning of each growing season. Be sure to spray seedlings and new growth right when it emerges.

Winter Use: Although these plants are dormant, deer will eat them and prevent spring growth. Use our repellent during the winter as a preventative measure. You can spray less in the winter as there is less foliage and roughly once per month.

Pro Tip: For commercial applicators, we recommend adding an additional sticking agent to the repellent for longer-lasting results. Many customers have found great success in adding a Sur-Tec Liquid Surfactant by Agritec international. Our repellent will last for months on end, but results may vary.

For Deer Rubbing: Spray directly to the base of plants and tree trunks. At first, the product will have a slight smell but will dry odor-free. This repellent is designed to change browsing behavior and train deer to stay away.

Before You Buy

The concentrates require mixing with water in an application sprayer. Liquids can be applied using a motorized spray pump or sprinkler system. Clean the sprayer after use to prevent clogging. You can also try our granular repellents for targeting specific areas and for protecting lower-level plants (plants under 2 feet tall).

This product is designed to repel mainly deer, moose, and elk. It is effective for rabbits, but if you are trying to repel mainly rabbits, try our Rabbit MACE formulas instead.

At Nature’s MACE, we feel for those who are losing money to deer damage. Damage can easily grow to beyond thousands of dollars in annual crop loss. We want to help by offering exclusive discounts for our commercial farmers and applicators. Please email [email protected] with a message titled, “commercial deer repellent”. We will even send you a free sample to try before you buy!

Professional

A key factor that distinguishes our repellents from others is that ours incorporates a pleasant minty scent. Although we use ingredients such as garlic and putrescent egg, we mask those more unpleasant smells with minty aromas. So now you can enjoy the beautiful aroma of nature without being repelled yourself!

It incorporates a unique 3-pronged approach, by combining fear, scent, and taste-based technology into one ultimate product. With Deer and Rabbit MACE, there is no need for product rotation. Our formula works extremely well in the winter season. Both the granular and liquid work to repel and prevent deer rubbing, which can severely damage and kill trees.

Deer Facts

Deer leave behind ragged leaves, missing areas, and frequently just stems. Their droppings are like rabbits, shaped in elongated pellet form.

Deer are “concentrate selectors”, which means that they eat or “cherry-pick” the most nutrient-rich plant parts that are best tasting. This explains why the tops of your plants, blooms, and buds, are eaten whilst the rest of the plant is still intact.

When using a fence, keep in mind that deer can jump over 8 feet high! Fencing can discourage browsing but will not solve the problem. We’ve also had customer accounts of rabbits digging under or going through gardeners’ fences. For these reasons, people sometimes use Deer and Rabbit MACE in combination with fencing. Electric fencing is another top-rated solution.

The average deer can eat up to 7 pounds of food per day. In the U.S alone, billions of dollars are lost yearly to deer-damaged crops. If an area is plentiful in resources a deer will make it a part of their “home range” or where they live and bed. If left undisturbed, deer can then repopulate and stay in that same area year after year.

Deer are habitual creatures that often feed at night to avoid being seen by people and prey. During these late-night hours, deer eat heavily, which is why you might not see them during the daytime. Deer may travel from a nearby farm where hunting is prohibited, to then feast on your crops at night.
