Although the ingredients in our formulas are essential oil based and generally regarded as safe, always test the product on a small area before spraying an entire area. Start slowly. This includes for both indoor and outdoor use. Every person, surface, and application are different, so please use responsibly and follow the necessary precautions.

Some people and pets are more susceptible to allergic reactions from essential oils. Our products do have the ability to stain sensitive fabrics, kill plants, etc. Always consult your veterinarian when using any product on and around your pets. Product directions must be followed to minimize risk and improper use can result in injury. It is safe, when used as directed.

The concentrated formula requires mixing with water before use. It breaks down into the ready to use formula when mixed with water at the specific mixing rate located on the product label. 

The concentrates require more work on your end but are the best-valued option as you can make lots of ready to use spray as you need it. One bottle can last all season.

When using the concentrates, you can mix it in a gallon-sized lawn and garden application sprayer, (commonly found online or at a local hardware store), or in a smaller ready to use bottle. Simply refill it when needed. Liquids can be easily applied using motorized spray pumps or sprinkler systems. 

The ready to use product comes premixed with a spraying mechanism. Simply shake before each use and spray away! Generally, the more product you use and to the degree in which you follow the directions the better the success you will have. Apply the product strategically and frequently for best results.

Generally speaking, our granular products tend to work best for lower-level ground coverage, i.e flowers, garden soil, bushes. Our granular formulas are perfect for perimeter applications. They are best used along the perimeter of rose bushes, gardens, flower beds, yards, doorsteps, and landscapes to protect desired areas. Most of our granular formulas are activated by the soil so they can become more effective as they decompose. Our granular formulas tend to repel less instantaneously than our liquids.

You can apply the granular formula in freezing temperatures, unlike the liquids which should be applied in temperatures above 38 degrees Fahrenheit. In heavy snowfall or icy conditions, crush the ice or snow before your application.

Our liquid products are generally used for taller and more precise applications. They are best used for treating larger areas such as in blanket spraying landscapes, gardens, and farms.

The concentrates are the best-valued option, as you can make large amounts of ready-to-use repellent. More product equals heavier applications and more coverage resulting in a greater chance of deterring your pest.

The guidelines for choosing between granular verse liquid vary by each product. Always read the directions before use and be sure that the repellent is enough for your sized area. Utilize both the granular and liquid formulations for the best results and maximum coverage.

Before purchasing, be sure to choose the best fit repellent for your sized area and needs. The more repellent applied frequently leads to better results. Read and follow all directions for initial application and follow-up applications.

Some of our repellents also act as training aids and may require multiple applications to see results. Some animals are more difficult to repel than others, so you must train them to stay away over a brief period. You may not see instantaneous results with some of our products. If it is still not working, you can double up on the application for heavier than normal pest infestations.

Re-apply after periods of inclement weather which may decrease product longevity. Decide where to apply and apply directly to the area and its surrounding areas. For liquids allow proper drying time. Once applied, our repellents will become less effective over time; therefore, you must reapply for continuous results.

Please be aware that the square footage listed on each product reflects the maximum coverage area the product is capable of being spread out in. It may seem as though it does not cover that amount of area for you due to your specific application, use, and need.

Due to some of our products containing blood meal, such as our granular deer and rabbit repellents, some dogs in some cases may be attracted to it. This depends on your dog breed and its personality.

This product may be harmful if eaten or swallowed. If you, a child, or a pet consumes our product please seek immediate medical attention. Most of the ingredients in our products are natural but can be toxic when consumed.

Keep out of reach of children. To reduce contact with skin, wear protective clothing. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, flush at least 20 minutes with water and seek immediate medical attention. Avoid applying to concrete and wood. Once plants bear fruit, do not apply directly to edible parts of food crops. Wash fruits and vegetables before eating. 

Nature’s MACE products typically go to work immediately upon applicationand continue to provide protection for 3-4 weeks. Each product is different. An accumulative effect will occur with regular applications and our customers indicate that it can last sometimes for up to 60-90 days. Nature’s MACE is incredibly easy to use. Simply shake your spray bottle to ensure mixing and you’re ready to go. We recommend testing a small area of the plant first before applying on a large scale treatment, as some plant types are highly sensitive. It’s important to spray on leaves, stems, flowers and branches thoroughly from all angles, apply until the plant drips and leaves are very wet. When you’re finished, clean the sprayer to prevent clogging. The best time to begin spraying is at the beginning of each growing season. Reapply every two to three months, or 2 inches of growth emerges. Reapply after heavy rain.

We realized early on that most repellents on the market have as little as 1% active ingredient in them. This means that only 1% of the product your buying is effective at repelling, while the rest is simply filler or "inactive"​ ingredients. We include more active ingredients, (sometimes up to 3X industry standard) while only including ingredients that are most effective.

Do not apply the liquid products onto plants during peak sun hours. The product is more likely to evaporate and become less effective. Apply the product in the early morning and late evening when there is little sunlight shining directly on your plants. Even spraying water onto plants, during peak times with extreme heat (over 90 degrees) can cause a slight burning or browning of the leaves.

If you still worry that Nature's MACE will harm your plants, dilute the product slightly more than recommended and apply more frequently to get similar results.

Nature’s MACE products contain a completely safe blend of only the finest natural ingredients available. Some functional ingredients listed in our formulas may seem foreign to the general consumer, but please be assured that they are safe, when used as directed. Although our products are mostly plant-based some formulas may stain delicate fabrics and surfaces. To ensure surface compatibility, always test a small area before the full application. Product may decolorize or damage delicate surfaces or finishes. Always follow the directions and precautionary statements. Generally speaking, our formulas are designed to be used on almost any surface and will not stain.

Nature’s MACE is an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) exempted product. "Because EPA has determined that certain "minimum risk pesticides" pose little to no risk to human health or the environment, EPA has exempted them from the requirement that they be registered under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act", specifically under Section 25(b) c.f. Federal Register, 61(45), Mar. 6, 1996 and therefore is not subject to federal registration (EPA).

University Studies investigating the effectiveness of deer repellents indicate that, of the many products tested, repellents with active ingredients that emitted sulfurous odors emitting from egg solids provided the best results. There is a chance that your order has been lost or damaged in transit, has failed to be delivered to the correct address, or has been stolen. There is also a small chance that it has failed to leave our facility on time. The shipping could also be taking longer than expected by the carrier.

UPS could have not left the package due to a signature being required. The shipment normally does not require a signature. However, it is up to the driver’s discretion in determining if the delivery area is a safe and secure location. Please contact UPS, they should leave it on the next delivery attempt.

We currently ship via UPS but in some cases, we will ship United States Postal Service. For smaller-sized orders (under 11 pounds) we ship UPS Surepost. For larger sized orders over 11 pounds, we ship UPS Ground.

Ground service typically arrives in 2-5 days whereas Surepost can be slightly longer.

For any orders (over 11 pounds) we cannot ship to P.O Boxes, you must supply us with a physical address.We do not have the option to expedite shipping. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Orders are typically shipped the next business day or within 24 hours. Orders placed over weekends and holidays will ship on the next working business day. Orders can be delayed a day or two due to inclement weather and issues in the supply chain.

Always shake Nature’s MACE liquid products for a full 60 seconds before each use ensuring ingredients are thoroughly mixed. To prevent clogging, remove the spray head and rinse after each use.

In the case of a spray nozzle clog, submerge the bottle under warm water for 15 minutes or hold the spray nozzle head under warm running water for 5 minutes until the sprayer resumes functionality.

If it still does not work, try removing the filter located at the bottom of the spray nozzle. If the issue persists, you may have a defective nozzle, or it still may be clogged.

We try to make our products as strong as possible to give them the best chances of working. As a result, our nozzles sometimes get clogged. Is it necessary to rotate deer and rabbit repellents to maintain effectiveness? Some repellents require rotation, not true with Nature’s MACE. Animals naturally avoid our scent technology so the effectiveness will always work by triggering natural instinctive flight response causing animals to immediately leave the area.
