Product Details

Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular is formulated for protecting lower-level ground vegetation and plants under 2 feet tall, making it ideal for perimeter applications to safeguard desired areas. Our granular deer deterrents, activated by soil, maintain their efficacy as they decompose, ensuring prolonged protection.

Our innovative, time-released granular formula offers long-lasting, year-round protection for your plants. The repellent remains effective for several months (results may vary), gradually altering the browsing behavior of deer. With consistent application every 30 to 60 days, you can effectively train deer and rabbits to avoid your landscaped and garden areas, safeguarding your shrubs, trees, bushes, vines, and other plants. Application is straightforward, with no mixing or hassle involved. The formula is designed to be gentle, leaving no film, stains, or damage on plants. Safe for all plant types, it incorporates a unique three-pronged approach that combines fear, scent, and taste-based deterrents into a single, powerful product.

Common Questions

Yes, our repellents are effective year-round. Both our granular and liquid formulas work exceptionally well during winter. Although these plants are dormant, deer will eat them and weaken spring growth. They act as winter repellents, preventing browsing, nibbling, and harmful deer rubbing. Spraying during winter serves as a preventative measure, allowing you to apply it less frequently, about once a month, due to the reduced foliage. If you notice deer activity in winter, they are likely to return in spring. Prevent deer damage before the spring season starts! The best time to begin spraying is at the start of each growing season. After a long, cold winter, deer are eager to consume fresh growth. Apply in early spring to protect seedlings and sprouts before blooms start. Be sure to spray seedlings and new growth right when they emerge.

DIRECTIONS

First, identify the areas needing protection or those showing signs of deer and rabbit damage, such as torn leaves, missing flowers, crushed plants, and visible droppings. Note the entry paths used by deer to access your property. For the first application, apply Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular heavily and evenly 18-inches away from flowerbeds, landscaped ornamentals, gardens, ground cover, and edibles in danger of animal browsing. Create a barrier approximately 20-inches wide around groups of plants, ensuring it is heavy enough to be seen. You may also sprinkle the granules between individual plants for added protection. To sustain effectiveness, reapply every three to four weeks. In regions with more severe deer, rabbit, elk, and moose activity, heavier or more frequent applications might be necessary, with barriers widened to 30 inches. This strategy aims to condition the animals to avoid your garden and landscaped areas. Following snowfall, break up the snow's crust and reapply. Reapply after heavy or extended rainfalls as well. To block common deer entry paths, lay down two strips of granules, each 5 feet apart.

For Larger Areas or Plots: Apply Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular in a 24” wide protective strip/barrier around the protective zone. Then, apply 18” wide interior strips inside the protective zone, spaced every 20-25 feet apart.

Not what i was expecting

I am in a war with rabbits destroying my lawn in Arizona. I've tried a lot of products and was really hopeful with this one. I didn't find it really did much of anything. Found rabbits right where I applied this (heavily) within a week.
It was a little challenging to apply with a normal lawn spreader, ended up putting it down a bit more heavily than the prescribed directions. Only tried it the one time due to being a large area and the cost. $125 didnt quite cover my front lawn. I'm not doing that every week or something.
