Before you buy:
The ready-to-use repellents come ready to use, and the concentrates require mixing with water in an application sprayer. Liquids can also be applied using a motorized spray pump or sprinkler system.
Our liquid concentrate repellents are best for larger and more widespread areas. The concentrates are the best-valued option, as you can make large amounts of ready-to-use spray. Try our granular repellents for lower-level plants and for creating perimeter protection. Utilize both the granular and liquid rabbit repellents for best results and maximum coverage.
Application Tips:
On top of applying directly to plants, consider spraying bushes, shrubs, etc. along the perimeter of your yard to discourage rabbits from entering. In the beginning, apply more heavily and frequently to stop active browsing. Consider spraying during the winter as a preventative measure. You can spray less as there is less foliage and roughly once per month. If you notice rabbits in the winter, they will likely be back in the spring. The best time to start spraying is at the beginning of each growing season. After a cold winter rabbits are eager to eat fresh growth.
How to Identify Rabbit Browsing:
When you see evidence of browsing and are looking to deter it, it is very important to determine if it is rabbits or other animals such as deer that are the culprits. Deer tear plants so the edges will be less clean cut than if a rabbit was responsible. The rabbit will have a clean tear at a 45-degree angle. The height of the browsing is also important as rabbits can only browse up to approximately 3 feet and deer can browse up to 6 feet. This product also works to repel deer, but if you have a deer issue, we recommend our specialized deer repellents.
A common misconception is that rabbits are only active during spring and summer, and they hibernate, but they do not hibernate and can browse all year. During spring and summer, they tend to go for flowers and vegetables and in fall and winter, they go for woody growth and plants.
