FAQ's

To keep moles, voles, and other pests from invading your lawn or garden, apply in early spring, summer, and fall. For the best results, use the product at the start of each season when pest activity is at its peak. This proactive approach deters them before they start tunneling. Voles are especially destructive in winter, feeding on plant parts both above and below the ground. For voles, apply in October and repeat applications before first snowfall.

The extent of your mole or vole infestation will determine how much you need to apply. Many customers and professionals have found that combining Granular Mole and Vole MACE and Liquid Castor Oil offers the best protection. Liquid Castor Oil is ideal for treating larger areas. It does require spraying in a lawn or garden type sprayer.

Yes, when used as directed, it is safe for use around pets, children, and homes. Castor oil is also safe for plants and gardens. It does not harm moles or voles.

Castor oil has a very mild, slightly nutty aroma. Although somewhat noticeable, the scent is not strong and fades quickly, making it practically odorless.

Nature’s MACE products typically begin working immediately after application and provide protection for 3 to 4 weeks. With regular use, the effects can accumulate, and customers report that the protection can last up to 60 to 90 days. It effectively drives moles and voles away and prevents their return.

DIRECTIONS

Combine 1/2 cup of castor oil with 1/2 cup of dish soap. Mix 4-6 tablespoons of the mixture with 1 gallon of water. You can also add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or garlic powder. Pour mixture into yard sprayer. Shake well before each use.

Visible damage on your property will reveal where the moles are entering and exiting. Our aim is to drive the moles back to their original entry point. Locate molehills and runways to determine which direction to push the moles out of your area. Next, protect the areas that are not yet invaded by moles. Day 1: Spray liquid over the area not yet or slightly invaded by moles. Day 2: Spray liquid over the area already invaded by moles and toward the boundary of where you want the moles to exit. Day 12: Reapply the liquid mixture over the entire affected area. For each application, fully saturate areas, and lightly soak in with water for 10 minutes. On Day 30, spray a 10-foot perimeter band along the property line at the exit area to prevent their return.

Depending on the severity of your issue, make the mixture stronger and re-apply as needed. Reapply every 2–3 months for maintenance or when new dirt mounds are found. Reapply after periods of heavy rainfall. If you do not see reduced activity within one week, be more persistent with applications and wait an additional week.

Positive Results

I've been using the liquid mole repellant for four months. I was able to drive the moles out using half and half, repellant and dish soap, with cayenne pepper; 8 tablespoons per gallon of water. I treated the unaffected area of my yard twice about a week apart, then treated the affected area driving the moles through a 20 foot corridor. Mole activity was obvious in this corridor. I treated all areas again, adding the corridor and have not had moles since. I now treat about a 15 to 20 foot strip, running along the perimeter of my yard, about once a month, using the rain to soak it in. I spotted mole activity right up to the edge of the perimeter. That is how I know this is working.

Thank you for this excellent, detailed review. We are glad to hear that that you are seeing positive results. Separting and treating the yard in sections is the key to making our Mole and vole MACE work!

Vole Infestation in Colorado Mountains

We have a seasonal cabin in the mountains above Boulder. Since we are not at the cabin year-round, voles have had the run of the open spaces among the pines during the off season. In season's past, we have tried several different approaches to encourage the voles to move on - all to no avail. After 3 days of daily treatment and closing up the vole holes, I am down to only two vole holes that were reopened overnight. Give me a couple more days and I feel that we will have had some real success. Expect a follow up order soon as I keep up the reapplication timetable!

It Works

I've been using castor oil to repel voles at my home for 2 years now. I first used the dry material but have switched to the liquid mixing it with dish detergent and spraying. It does seem to work. Using the liquid is cheaper. Doesn't kill the voles but does seem to keep them away. Unfortunately, it requires regular application. I spray about every 3 months.

Small company, big results

First, I try to buy as locally as I can. If that fails, I look for small companies. Nature's MACE fits that bill. They're also veteran-owned (bonus!) The customer service is top-notch (one quick call, and my questions were answered.) Also, the product works great! I got Mole & Vole Repellent and a quick spread over the lawn. I have never had a season without mole holes in my yard. That changed this year. I'll be going back to Nature's MACE more often. Thanks all!

Thank you for your Stellar Review! We are so glad you are happy with our company and product. We strive to always put customers first and provide the best quality products! <3
