  • To keep moles, voles, and other pests from invading your lawn or garden, apply in early spring, summer, and fall. For the best results, use the product at the start of each season when pest activity is at its peak. This proactive approach deters them before they start tunneling.

Voles are especially destructive in winter, feeding on plant parts both above and below the ground. For voles, apply in October and repeat applications before first snowfall.

  • The extent of your mole or vole infestation will determine how much you need to apply. Many customers and professionals have found that combining Granular Mole and Vole MACE and Liquid Castor Oil offers the best protection. Liquid Castor Oil is ideal for treating larger areas. It does require spraying in a lawn or garden type sprayer.

  • Yes, when used as directed, it is safe for use around pets, children, and homes. Castor oil is also safe for plants and gardens. It does not harm moles or voles.

  • Castor oil has a very mild, slightly nutty aroma. Although somewhat noticeable, the scent is not strong and fades quickly, making it practically odorless.

  • Nature’s MACE products typically begin working immediately after application and provide protection for 3 to 4 weeks. With regular use, the effects can accumulate, and customers report that the protection can last up to 60 to 90 days. It effectively drives moles and voles away and prevents their return.

Directions For Use

Combine 1/2 cup of castor oil with 1/2 cup of dish soap. Mix 4-6 tablespoons of the mixture with 1 gallon of water. You can also add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or garlic powder. Pour mixture into yard sprayer. Shake well before each use.

Visible damage on your property will reveal where the moles are entering and exiting. Our aim is to drive the moles back to their original entry point. Locate molehills and runways to determine which direction to push the moles out of your area. Next, protect the areas that are not yet invaded by moles. Day 1: Spray liquid over the area not yet or slightly invaded by moles. Day 2: Spray liquid over the area already invaded by moles and toward the boundary of where you want the moles to exit. Day 12: Reapply the liquid mixture over the entire affected area. For each application, fully saturate areas, and lightly soak in with water for 10 minutes. On Day 30, spray a 10-foot perimeter band along the property line at the exit area to prevent their return.

Depending on the severity of your issue, make the mixture stronger and re-apply as needed. Reapply every 2–3 months for maintenance or when new dirt mounds are found. Reapply after periods of heavy rainfall. If you do not see reduced activity within one week, be more persistent with applications and wait an additional week.
