Product Details

Deer and Rabbit MACE granular is best used for lower-level ground vegetation, i.e., flowers, crops, bushes, seedlings, ornamental plants, shrubs, garden beds, and plants under 2 feet tall. It is safe for use in gardening and may be applied directly to plants. Our granular deer deterrents are activated by the soil, so they retain their effectiveness as they decompose. Nature's MACE Deer and Rabbit Repellent is made with plant-based ingredients.

Deer & Rabbit MACE is biodegradable, non-toxic, and easy to use. No mixing or hassle is required. This is the perfect at-home DIY Deer Repellent Solution. Apply directly from the container to quickly repel deer and rabbits. Our time-released granular formula provides long-lasting, year-round plant protection! It will naturally change animal browsing behavior. With regular application, on a 30 to 60-day rotation, you will save shrubs, trees, bushes, vines, and plants by training deer and rabbits to stay clear of your landscaped and garden areas.

FAQ's

Yes, Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular effectively repels deer, rabbits, elk, and moose.

No, deer and rabbits do not become accustomed to the scent of this product. Their natural aversion remains strong over time, eliminating the need to rotate it with other repellents. Our technology combines fear, scent, and taste cues to consistently trigger their instinctive flight response, ensuring ongoing protection for your plants.

Yes, our repellents are effective year-round. Both our granular and liquid formulas work exceptionally well during winter. They act as winter repellents, preventing browsing, nibbling, and harmful deer rubbing. Consider spraying during winter as a preventative measure. You can apply it less frequently, about once a month, due to the reduced foliage. If you notice deer activity in winter, they are likely to return in spring. Prevent deer damage before the spring season starts! The best time to begin spraying is at the start of each growing season. After a long, cold winter, deer are eager to consume fresh growth.

Yes, it can be used on all types of plant foliage. It does not harm plants, trees, wildlife, deer, or rabbits (when used as directed). We recommend applying it generously to the ground and surrounding areas of edible plants. You can apply it directly to plants but avoid getting it on the edible parts. Always thoroughly rinse any fruits or vegetables before consuming them.

The granular formulas tend to last longer than liquids and are more weather-resistant. They can also be applied in freezing temperatures. They work best for perimeter applications. This makes them ideal for protecting areas like flowerbeds, bushes, gardens, and landscapes.

Our liquid spray is best for taller vegetation, while our granular formula is better for protecting lower-level plants and shrubbery (plants under 3 feet tall). For optimal results and maximum coverage, use both granular and liquid repellents. Our liquid formulas offer more versatile blanket protection for treated areas. Available in both concentrate and ready-to-use sprays, they are ideal for large applications such as landscapes and farming. Liquids can be applied using a motorized spray pump or sprinkler system and generally cover more square footage than the granular version.

DIRECTIONS

Identify the area to protect or the problem areas caused by deer and rabbit munching (torn leaves, missing flowers, crushed plants, droppings, rubs). For the first application, apply Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular heavily and evenly 18” away from flowerbeds, landscaped ornamentals, gardens, ground cover, and edibles in danger of animal browsing. You can also sprinkle between plants. Apply a 24” (2 foot) wide barrier around plant groups. Re-apply every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain control.

In areas where Deer, Rabbit, Elk, and Moose feeding or browsing is heavier and more intense, additional and/or more liberal applications may be required, increase barrier to 30” wide. This will eventually train animals to avoid and stay clear of your garden and landscaped areas. Re-apply after extensive snowfall by breaking up crusted snow prior to application. Re-apply after periods of prolonged rainfall. For Larger Areas: Apply Deer and Rabbit MACE Granular in a 24” wide protective strip/barrier around the protective zone. Then, apply a 15” wide strip inside the protective zone every 15 Feet.

Great results

Mace really works, but you have to be diligent and re-apply it after a rain. I forgot to do that once and deer ate the buds on our prize day lilies. This the second summer we have used it with great results.

My mace!

Happy with the product, but could use a screen on the spout so it doesn’t come out so fast, and maybe a handle on bottom of bag, but maybe too expensive to do!
Thank you,
Pete

testing your Deer and Rabbit products

Last year was the first year I tried your product. I am on year two now. I have had a consistent deer problem for many years and i have a lot of landscape plants to worry about. I have used the granuals as well as the stray. I will say it has worked great if you are consistent on applying the applications. I have used in on my flower beds as well as my vegetable garden. This one is someone of a challenge because it is all good eating for the deer. I have decided to at least put the graules around the edge as you suggested. and I sprinkle it in-between the plants too about once a week. In my flower beds it seems that spraying them once a month does the trick for them. I asked my neighbor across the street if she wanted me to spray her hydrangeas and hostas as she has not had any luck keeping the deer away for the 7 years they have lived them. It has been a great success. The deer have forgotten there used to be something to eat there. She is very happy. I have told many people how happy I am with the product. They look at me in disbelief. I have even talked to the nurseries i go to and have contacted my company that fertilizes my grass. No one has heard or your company. I suggested they they might even what to start a separate division in their company to spray the plants in people’s yard. So far no takers. I live in the Columbus Ohio area and so far no one has ever heard of your products. There is a market here if you ever want to expand. Of course people have told me about their rabbit problem, mole and yesterday about ground hogs. Do not know if you have products for that. The real issue is to follow your directions and spray and sprinkle the granules around on a consistent basis. I love your product and will continue to use and tell other people of my success.

Nature's Mace Granular Deer & Rabbit Repellent

The deer and rabbit granular repellent seems to work well so far. We have had deer interested in some plants after the product has been on the ground for awhile.
We do like the granular aspect of the repellent and it does seem to work better than other products we have tried.

It works

I have a large ornamental garden in my front yard, completely unfenced. A neighbor walking by last summer demanded to know why MY lilies were blooming and perfect - hers had all been eaten. I buy in quantity, and sprinkle Nature's Mace around the edges of the garden, and then lightly through the middle. Been using it for several years now - it's very easy to apply (just a shaker, or broadcast handfuls), and it smells sort of nice, to a human. Best deer/rabbit repellant ever, and I had tried a lot of them before I found this.
