Keep your house and surroundings in order; get rid of standing water bodies; keep the waste bin empty and closed at all time; get rid of food crumbs and spills all the time especially before going to bed; treat your furniture and shelves; get rid of cob webs at least thrice a week; ensure to sweep through hidden corners and underneath installments at least twice every week; keep all food containers especially sugar containers properly closed and ensure to cover holes in walls, windows and doors. By so doing, your home does not become a comfortable place for those annoying bugs to inhabit.

Growing a number of plants such as garlic, cloves, turmeric, peppermint, lemongrass and marigold can help keep bugs out because they give off odor that are not so pleasant to a good number of bugs.

Spraying your house once in a while with a mixture of some essential oils such as peppermint oil and lemongrass oil is another effective way to ensure those bugs do not feel at home in your house and even in your yard.
